I wont lie, this was a fairly half assed attempt at a bacon explosion. Unfortunately it’s, so far, impossible to get bacon strips in Australia, so I made do with what i had. It is, however, very, very easy to make, and extremely tasty.

It’s a little tricky at first, but you just have to lay strips down in one direction, then fold them back, lay a strip, fold it over, and so on.
Transfer the Bacon Weave to an oven pan, and put it in an oven, or under the grill, and cook it about half way.
When you’ve done that, flip the weave, and apply a light layer of BBQ Sauce.
After the bacon is slightly crispy, put down a layer of Ground Pork, and then some cheese on top of that.
This part is best executed with a little help, but it can be done solo. Lay out some aluminum foil, and place the bacon explosion on that. Roll it up, and pinch the ends together.
Place it in the oven on 180ºC for about 30 minutes. That should make sure the ground pork is cooked through.
If you have the self control, leave it wrapped up for a half hour, or as you can see here, I just unwrapped it straight away. It’s going to ooze a fair bit of fat, try and save it because it’s delicious.
Cut it like you would anything that resembled an oversized sausage, and eat. It’s a bit of an experience, in making and cooking, but damn it’s a thing of beauty.
Totally made this today, it was excellent! Thanks for the recipe!
